TEHRAN - The Iranian Supreme National Security Council has started to review Tehran’s recent nuclear agreement with world powers dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The announcement was made by Keyvan Khosravi, spokesman of the council, Iran daily reported on Thursday.Khosravi stressed that the council will not be affected by unhelpful controversy raised by groups opposed to the nuclear deal.
He said further notice will be given later about the council’s progress in considering the deal.
The JCPOA was reached between Iran and the P5+1 group (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany). The Iranian government needs endorsement by the parliament and the Supreme National Security Council before it can enact the requirements of the deal.
