TEHRAN – Iranian and Kyrgyz Presidents Hassan Rouhani and Almazbek Atambayev issued a statement on Monday and highlighted the importance of finding a “political solution” to settle conflicts in the Middle East region without foreign interference.

The statement said that political, cultural and economic cooperation between Iran and Kyrgyzstan are “positive”.

The statement also added that the Kyrgyz president congratulated Iran on the nuclear agreement and noted its positive results and Rouhani congratulated Atambayev over membership of Kyrgyzstan to the Eurasia economic union.

The statement highlighted the necessity of boosting economic cooperation between the two countries and making the joint economic committee more active.

It is said in the statement that the two countries share “common will” to increase cooperation in areas such as building hydroelectric facilities, exploiting mining and signing memorandum of understanding for cooperation between airlines.

Cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Economic Cooperation Organization was also mentioned in the statement.

The statement also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in fighting terrorism and extremism.
