TEHRAN – Winners of the 22nd Festival of Visual Arts for Young Artists were honored during a ceremony at the Simorgh Cultural Center in the northeastern Iranian city of Neyshabur on Thursday.

About 200 artists aged between 16 and 25 participated in the festival, creating works within a three-day limit in nine different workshops.

In the category of miniature, Mohammadreza Parsa, Mohsen Safari, Ali Seyyed-Fattahi, Maedeh Zarei and Parnia Modaressi were awarded.

Mohammad Ganjeh and Mohammad Nazari were honored in the photo section, while the winners in the poster category were Mahmud Arasteh-Nasab, Mohammad-Mehdi Majidirad and Majid Elahi.

The awards of the drawing section were given to Alireza Parhizgari, Homa Hoseinian Amirkhiz and Qader Mansuri.

Azam Tarshizi, Fatemeh Jafari, Saedi Javanmard and Aref Niazi received the awards in the cartoon section, while Fatemeh Mohammadi, Hamed Nurai and Majid Farahmand were honored in the sculpture category.

In the illustration category, Yasamin Joneidi, Shadi Vedai, Parvin Heidarizadeh and Ali-Asghar Matak were the recipients of the awards.

Armin Alian, Narges Bani-Aqa and Maryam Saber were honored in the painting section, while in the calligraphy section the honorees were Alireza Abasalt, Sadeq Sheikh Mamu, Farnud Mohammadi and Alireza Motalebi.

In addition at the closing ceremony, veteran calligrapher Abolqasem Daneshju, founder of the Neyshabur Branch of Iran’s Association of Calligraphers, was honored for his lifetime achievements.
