Bulgarian conductor Emil Tabakov to make guest appearance at Iranian festival

TEHRAN -- Bulgarian musician Emil Tabakov will serve as a guest conductor with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra during the 31st Fajr International Music Festival.
During the event, the orchestra will give three concerts, one of which will be conducted by Tabakov, the conductor and music director of the orchestra, Ali Rahbari, told the Persian service of Hanaronline on Sunday.“The orchestra is scheduled to perform three concerts at international level during the festival,” he said.
“I will conduct the opening concert with pieces by Iranian composers and international musicians, including Mozart and Hector Berlioz,” he added.
Rahbari said that U.S.-based Iranian pianist Sara Daneshpur will accompany the orchestra during the performance.
Tabakov is scheduled to conduct the orchestra during its second performance, which will be accompanied by Arsha Kaviani, Dubai-based Iranian pianist who previously collaborated with the Qatar Philharmonic and the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra.
Slovakian violin virtuoso Dalibor Karvay will join the orchestra at the closing concert, which will be conducted by Rahbari.
A repertoire of Iranian compositions and pieces by world-renowned musicians, including Max Bruch and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, will be performed at the concert.
The festival is scheduled to be held in Tehran in February 2016.
