TEHRAN – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Thursday that Iran has formed a committee to supervise implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, commonly called nuclear deal, based on guidelines set by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The Foreign Ministry seriously pursues the issue of implementing the JCPOA based on the Leader’s guidelines and approvals of the Parliament and the Supreme National Security Council, Zarif said in a press conference in Qom, where he had visited to hold consultations with some grand ayatollahs.

Iran and the 5+1 group - the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany - finalized the text JCPOA in Vienna on July 14.

According to the deal, Iran is tasked to slow down its nuclear activities for some ten years and instead the sanctions against are removed.

The deal is set to go into force at the beginning of 2016.

Elsewhere, Zarif said that divisive moves in Islamic countries have nothing to do with Islam, calling them “non-Islamic”.

He said that Iran has prioritized boosting relations with neighboring and Islamic countries in its foreign policy.
