TEHRAN - Chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in separate letters to his foreign counterparts has deplored a new law that tightens visa-free travel to the U.S. for those who have visited Iran.

In his letter addressed on Sunday to counterparts in the European Parliament and the parliaments of France, Britain, Germany, Russia and China, Alaeddin Boroujerdi complained that not only is the new law “unfair and discriminatory” in nature, it also contradicts what the U.S. is committed to do under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

If enacted, the new U.S. visa program will adversely affect normalizations of Iran’s trade and economic ties with the world, since it will discourage international business people from travelling to Iran, Boroujerdi explained.
