TEHRAN -- Tehran’s Boom Gallery is displaying photos by world-renowned Iranian artist and filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami in an exhibition entitled “Four Seasons”, which features a selection of photos taken over the past three decades.

The exhibition puts 29 photos on show from his six series: “Snow White”, “Roads”, “Moonlight”, “Doors Without Keys”, “The Wall” and “A Window Into Life”, the Persian service of Honaronline reported on Saturday.

Art expert Alireza Sami-Azar, Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Ali Moradkhani and a large number of prominent Iranian artists attended the opening ceremony of the exhibit on Friday.

“Kiarostami is really a special man and this uniqueness can be found in his point of view and his artworks,” Moradkhani said in a short speech during the opening ceremony.

“At this exhibition, I saw works from his series ‘Doors Without Keys’, which shows that Kiarostami has had his own local Iranian view in his works while he is an international artist,” he added.

The exhibition runs until March 17 at Boom Gallery, which was inaugurated in February 2013 with displaying Kiarostami’s series of snow landscapes “Snow White”.

“My photos make my cinema. The medium of photography gives me an opportunity to work with a minimum of equipment,” Kiarostami said during the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

“I am interested in both cinema and photography, but it is obvious that at present, conditions are more favorable for photography, because it does not need permission, investment, etc.,” he added.
