New dam, power plant inaugurated in southeastern Iran

TEHRAN - Zirdan embankment dam and Chabahar combined cycle power plant came on stream in Sistan-Baluchestan Province, southeast of Iran, on Monday.
Implementing the power plant project will raise the power generation capacity to 1,175 megawatts in the province.
Zirdan dam has the storage capacity of 40 million cubic meters. The dam cost nearly $90 million to be built.
