TEHRAN – Tehran’s ambassador to Rome says Italy will not benefit from aligning itself with the countries which are planning to impose oil sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Mohammad Ali Hosseini, in an interview with the Italian news agency ANSA, said that economic ties between Tehran and Rome are based on shared interests and mutual needs.
The United States imposed additional sanctions on Iran last month and the European Union is expected to discuss a ban on imports of Iranian oil later this month.
