TEHRAN — A 15-year-old boy, who was trained in CPR and first aid, managed to save an 18-year-old girl’s life in a village on the outskirts of the western city of Khorramabad.

Alireza Hosseinzadeh, a high school student, happened to walk passed a family whose daughter was in cardiac arrest and tried to help, Mehr news agency reported.

“As I was walking I saw the girl who didn’t breathe and her parents could do nothing; I approached them and tried to help her but the girl’s father didn’t let me at first,” Alireza said.

“I insisted and finally he gave in,” he said, adding, “I don’t know what caused her condition but I started with chest compression and artificial ventilation.”

“She started to breathe again but I couldn’t get her pulse so I continued with chest compression until she became conscious and started throwing up,” he continued.

“At first I freaked out and I was worried that if the girl couldn’t make it her father would never let me go,” he pointed, “But I tried not to panic and started to do as I was trained before and when she finally became conscious I thanked God a million.”
