Iranian, Spanish photogs team up for Tehran exhibition

TEHRAN -- Twelve Iranian and Spanish photographers will hang their works in a joint exhibition, which will open at Tehran’s Silk Road Gallery on Friday.

The Western Mediterranean Cultural Association in Spain has organized the exhibit in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Tehran and several other Iranian and Spanish organizations, the Embassy of Spain announced in a press release on Monday.

The exhibition entitled “Parallel Looks. Iran - Spain: Photographers in the Mirror” compares two similar situations in Iran and Spain in photos by each of two Iranian and Spanish photographers. 

Works by Soledad Córdoba, Shadi Gadirian, Cristina García Rodero, Hengameh Golestan, Amparo Garrido, Rana Javadi, Isabel Muñoz, Gohar Dashti, Mayte Vieta, Ghazaleh Hedayat, María Zarazúa and Newsha Tavakolian have been selected for the exhibition, which will run through November 27.

The works have been selected by Zara Fernández and Santiago Olmo.

The gallery is scheduled to hold a Q & A session at 6 p.m. on November 13.

The collection was previously exhibited in Madrid in March 2016.
The Silk Road Gallery is located at 210 Keshavarz Blvd., near Vesal St.
