TEHRAN – Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday wrote a message offering condolences over the death of Ali Shariatmadari, an outstanding Iranian educationist and former official.

The Leader in his message praised the deceased for his educational services, the leader.ir reported.

Shariatmadari was an Iranian academic and educationist who was minister of culture in the interim government of Mehdi Bazargan in 1979. He also served as a member of the High Council of Cultural Revolution from 1982 until his death on January 9.
