TEHRAN – Iran tourism chief has said Ardebil province has all the necessary characteristics and potentials to take on “a tourism hub” appearance, CHTN reported.

Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Director Ali-Asghar Mounesan made the remarks on Thursday and during a two-day visit to the northwestern province.

“Cultural heritage relics, tourist attractions, rich history and civilization, striking rituals and traditions, warm hospitality, friendly people and delicious dishes are all prospects that can more than ever cater to tourism boom in the province.”

Ardebil is home to the UNESCO-registered Sheikh Safi al-Din Khanegah and Shrine Ensemble, named after Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili (1253-1334), who was a Sufi philosopher and leader of Islamic mystic practices.
