TEHRAN – Reformist MP Elias Hazrati said on Sunday that he has quit the Hope parliamentary faction, citing disagreements with members of the reform faction over the impeachment of Economy Minister Massoud Karbasian.

“More than a month has passed since I signed for the impeachment of Mr. Karbasian. Many friends asked me to withdraw my signature, but I stood up to them,” ISNA quoted Hazrati as saying.

He added, “I didn’t want to act against the faction. So I had to choose between withdrawing my impeachment move and quitting the faction, and I chose the latter.”
