Bulgaria festival to screen films from Iran

TEHRAN – The Iranian films “Slaughter”, “Take a Deep Breath!” and “Blue Sky, Clean Earth” will be competing in the 14th Early Bird Film Festival, which will take place in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia from November 1 to 5. 

“Slaughter” by Saman Hosseinpur and Ako Zandkarimi narrates the story of a family that is forced to slaughter their lone cow to pass the hard, cold winter days, although their son is not happy with it.

“Blue Sky, Clean Earth” by Mahyar Mandegar tells the story of Masud, a small time thief who is charged with terrorism.

Competing in the animation section, “Take a Deep Breath!” by Zahra Safdari Shadlu is about a woman who overcomes the fear of presence in the society and her past bitter memories.

A selection of 117 films from 80 countries will be competing in the Early Bird Film Festival this year.
