Agriculture Ministry Denies Deal to Import Indian Tea

TEHRAN Agriculture Ministry spokesman Masoud Khorasani here Wednesday denied that Iran had signed an agreement with India to import tea.
Khorasani told IRNA that recently an Iranian delegation, headed by managing director of state tea organization, visited India to exchange views with Indian officials and use the country's experience in tea cultivation.
He said the state tea organization supports tea growers, strives to promote national tea industry, employs sophisticated technology in the tea industry, supervises tea related affairs per a Majlis ratification.
It also implements projects to upgrade the tea industry in accordance with the ratification of the economy council and the cabinet.
