TEHRAN Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Hamdi Reza Assefi here Tuesday rejected as "baseless" fabrications made by the Israeli radio and certain press circles affiliated to the Zionist regime on alleged efforts by the Islamic Republic of Iran to encourage Palestinian groups to foment tension in the region.
Assefi said such a propaganda tool had been previously deployed in similar cases by the Zionist regime in an attempt to exert further pressure on militant Palestinian forces in the aftermath of the failure of the recent talks.
The spokesman further added that the principled firm stance adopted by the Islamic world toward the issue of Palestine, specially the holy Qods, is the main motive behind raising such repeated allegations under this crucial juncture.
Radio Israel and certain press such as the Sunday Times have alleged that the Islamic Republic of Iran is trying to encourage Palestinian groups to get involved in operations against the Zionist regime and that Tehran has provided those groups with financial assistance.
