Rezaei to vie with Ortiz for Volleyball Hall of Fame

TEHRAN – Iran sitting volleyball coach Hadi Rezaei will vie with Kari Miller-Ortiz of the U.S. for the 2023 International Volleyball Hall of Fame Induction.

They are among the 16 nominees for the accolade.

Fans are encouraged to participate in the Fan Vote open now until April 16, 2023, ParaVolley wrote.

Fans can vote daily for as many nominees as they feel are deserving, and are encouraged to share the information with their networks to highlight their favorite nominees.

The top six Fan Vote selections will be entered onto the official ballot, from which the IVHF International Selection Committee (composed of all living inductees) select the prestigious Class of 2023 International Volleyball Hall of Fame Inductees.

Rezaei inspired Team Melli to a title at the 2020 Paralympic Games.

In the last six years he bagged four important achievements, including back-to-back Paralympic gold medals in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo and two world titles in Arnhem in 2018 and Sarajevo in 2022.

Rezaei has won seven gold and two silver medals in his career as a player and a coach.

Also, Kari Miller-Ortiz is three-time medalist. She won two silver medals at 2008 and 2012 and claimed a gold in the 2016 Paralympic Games.

In 2021, Ortiz was inducted into the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame, recognizing her exceptional achievements in sitting volleyball.
