The Emergence of Faith in Action

The book "Sunset of Palmyra" is the life story of martyr Ali Asghar Shirdel who was one the defenders of the shrine in Syria.
Mahbubeh Moazzemi was born in Andimeshk County, in 1979. She has been interested in writing since she was a teenager, and chose the field of Persian language and literature to study at the university, thus entering the world of writing. The book "Sunset of Palmyra" is considered one of her most prominent works.
* What is the name of the first book you wrote in the field of sacrifice and martyrdom and what is its content?
My first book was "Fire of Love" and it is about the life of a young martyr named Akbar Barikani, who was a distinguished student in school and was martyred by a tank bullet at the age of 17 in Mehran region.
* What is your motivation and purpose for writing in the field of sustainability literature?
I was born in a war zone and as a child, I had full respect for what the martyrs did for my peace and security. In my mind, the martyrs were the heroes who saved my childhood from displacement, terror, and fear. My biggest motivation was my love for these great heroes.
* What do you think is the most important point that your book shares with the audience?
In my opinion, the most important points of the book were Shirdel's avoidance of hypocrisy. The very subtle points of psychology and education in this book are very significant. The way the martyr faced the issues of society and balance in all aspects of life was very exciting and admirable for me. His faith can be seen and depicted not in his words but in his actions.
* How was the process of collecting and compiling documents for your book?
For about a year, I interviewed all the people who were in touch with Martyr Shirdel. I have more than 30 hours of interviews, and while writing, I also had a close relationship with the martyr's family, and it was my luck that his family was very culture-loving and very eager to publish the book.
