TEHRAN Head of European Commission, Romano Prodi, described Iran as a great country, saying that it is impossible to isolate Iran.
Talking to an Italian state-run television in New York after his meeting with the Iranian President Seyed Mohammad Khatami, Prodi, former prime minister of Italy, added "I was the first Western leader to visit Iran; so I was highly appreciated by Iranian officials." In my meeting with the U.S. President, Bill Clinton, I told him that Iran is too great a country to be kept in isolation by some countries, he said.
