Officers of 26 Parliamentary Friendship Groups Elected

TEHRAN Officers of Iran's parliamentary friendship groups with 10 European, eight Asian, six African and two American countries were elected at the sixth session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis).
Each group consists of 11 deputies including a chairman, a vice chairman, a secretary, a treasurer and seven members.
European countries whose friendship groups' officers have been appointed included Greece, Hungary, France, Belarussia, Czech, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Britain and Germany.
Malaysia, Kuwait, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Japan, Thailand, Tajikistan, and the Republic of Azerbaijan are among Asian states whose friendship groups' officers have been elected.
The six African countries include Morocco, Mali, Ghana, Libya, Tunisia, and Burkina Faso.
The two American countries are Mexico and Brazil.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Department of Majlis announced that according to a Majlis policy, parliamentary friendship groups are to be formed with countries that observe the three requirements of mutual respect, protection of national interest and upholding of a policy of not interfering in the domestic affairs of others in their relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
