TEHRAN In the third day of "The Sacred Defense Week", President Seyed Mohammad Khatami who is also the head of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) took part in a meeting attended by the senior commanders of the army, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Law Enforcement Forces (LEF) as well as the military advisors to the Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Saturday.
During the meeting hosted by Defense Minister Real Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the president marked the memory of the commanders martyred over the eight years of the sacred defense and expressed hope that the generation of the Islamic Revolution would try to realize the ideals of the revolution, the system and the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini.
Addressing the audience, Shamkhani called on the military commanders to go ahead with their efforts to defend Islam, the revolution and the territorial integrity of Iran.
