TEHRAN A Tehran University professor announced yesterday that Shahdad region located in Kerman Province, Iran, has been the warmest area on the earth.
Parviz Kardavani who has been studying on Kavir-e Lout (Lout Desert) for a long time, added the air temperature in this region sometimes stands at 100 degrees centigrade which is the highest temperature recorded until now on the earth.
The deepest area inside Iran has also been located in 60 kilometers east of Shahdad's Godiz region. The area has 56 meter high from the sea level.
Shahdad has been located in 120 kilometers northeast of Kerman.
