RIO DE JANEIRO Sao Paulo goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni scored from a free kick to earn his team a 1-1 draw at home to international late on Tuesday.
Rogerio, who has followed in the footsteps of Paraguay's Jose Luis Chilavert by turning free kick and penalty taker, curled an unstoppable effort over the international wall for the 19th goal of his career.
Rogerio is also the first choice goalkeeper for the Brazil national team but, unlike Chilavert, has never been allowed to try out his goalscoring prowess for his country.
Sao Paulo stayed second in the Joao Havelange Cup, which has replaced the Brazilian championship this year.
