Key decisions made to expedite clearance of goods from customs
TEHRAN- Three important decisions have been made: "a one-month extension for expired registration orders related to agricultural goods," "exemption of all imported goods from the rule requiring the registration order date to precede the unloading date," and "percentage-based clearance of goods."
According to an IRNA report and based on a notice from the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), given the urgent need to expedite the clearance of shipments in customs premises and manage the market during the current critical period, new measures have been adopted following decisions by the relevant authorities and bodies.
Accordingly, all importers, exporters, producers, and those active in the field of foreign trade can clear goods from customs based on the mentioned supportive measures:
1. One-month extension for expired registration orders related to agricultural goods: The validity of registration orders for all goods under the tariff headings of the agricultural sector whose validity has expired will be extended for one month. Based on this, importers can proceed with the customs clearance process by providing the necessary undertakings to the relevant organization.
2. Exemption of all imported goods from the rule requiring the registration order date to precede the unloading date: All goods that have been or are being imported into the country are exempt, until further notice, from the rule requiring the registration order date to precede the unloading/warehousing receipt date, as stipulated in Article (5) of the Executive Regulations of the Export and Import Regulations Law.
3. Facilitation of percentage-based clearance of goods: The possibility of clearing goods on a percentage basis, as detailed in the attached file, has been provided until further notice. It is worth noting that the clearance of 24 basic commodities, without recording the origin of currency information, has been possible since March 1.
