Bank Keshavarzi Joins the Swift

TEHRAN -- Bank Keshavarzi (Agriculture Bank) of Iran joined the Society for Worldwide Inter-Bank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) on Sunday.
"The trend will help our bank to improve its accuracy, reduce telecommunication costs, increase operational security, confidentiality and efficiency," the SWIFT manager at the bank, Shahrzad Moshiri told IRNA Saturday.
SWIFT is a cooperative society owned wholly by its member banks throughout the world, and is now rendering services to 6,800 financial institutions in 189 countries.
Bank Keshavarzi was established in 1890 as a result of a merger between Agricultural Cooperative Bank of Iran (established in 1930) and Agricultural Developmental Bank of Iran (established in 1968), As the only specialized bank in agricultural credit in the country.
Having joined the SWIFT, Bank Keshavarzi, which provides its customers with all kinds of commercial and international banking services, will be able to provide efficiency, accuracy, speed and confidentiality at the highest level, said Ms. Moshiri.
