Iran's Progress in Laser Medicine Considerable

TEHRAN Iran and Russia have made considerable progress in the field of laser medicine, including laser operations and treatments, it was announced in a seminar on laser and its role in medicine in Ahvaz on Tuesday.

Head of the Laser Department of Russia's Health Ministry said at the seminar that, "although Iran has started using laser recently, the technology has found its place in all relevant fields, including medicine. He forecast a bright future for the laser industry in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Referring to the three-year long cooperation between Tehran and Moscow in the field of laser technology, Professor Kinits said that such conferences, which are not the first of their kind in the Islamic Republic, can contribute to the progress of the laser science and improve bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.

I am happy that over the past few years laser has been applied in the medical fields in comparison to its previous application in the field of military activities.

Two Russian scholars have already received Noble prizes for their laser discoveries and inventions.

Elsewhere in his remarks the Russia professor praised Iran's discipline on drugs and alcohol calling it something very interesting.
