TEHRAN A group of over 30 pro-reform Iranian journalists wrote a letter, calling on their outspoken jailed colleague to end his hunger strike in Evin Prison, the press reported Saturday.

In a meeting with Ahmad Zeidabadi's family, the signatories urged him "to end his hunger strike to preserve his health."

Zeidabadi started refusing food several days ago to protest conditions in jail. He has been held in prison on a "temporary" detention order for more than five months.
