TEHRAN A German researcher residing in Australia, Dr. Frederick Tobin, said he would apply for political refugee status in Iran if and when his condition of stay in Australia becomes insecure.

Addressing a student gathering in Razavi University of Islamic Sciences in Mashhad Province on Friday night, he said that stories of the holocaust, i.e., Jews killed in gas chambers during the World War II, have all been proven false.

He further said that the German government has sentenced him to serve seven months in prison and was trying to force the Australian government to extradite him to Germany.

Tobin, who is in Iran to participate in the conference on "Defending Palestinian Rights," said that Zionists have influenced legislatures of many countries in the world, including Germany, to pass a law that would prohibit anyone from researching on the subject of Jews alleged to have been massacred during the World War II in order to prevent the falsity of the claim from being exposed.

Further in his speech, Dr. Tobin said, "Based on the researches we have carried out on the issue of Jews claimed to have been massacred during World War II, we have come to the conclusion that the claim is totally false as supported by several reasons.
