Pakistani, Iranian Officials Review Security Cooperation
Speaking at his meeting with the visiting Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, the Interior Minister of Pakistan, General Moinuddin Haider said, "Cooperation between Iran and Pakistan would be an important factor in solution of regional problems like Kashmir and Afghanistan."
Both the leaders agreed on setting up special security commissions in the interior ministries of the both the countries.
Talking to the Pakistani officials, Dr. Hassan Rouhani said that no problem or issue should affect the cordial relations between Iran and Pakistan.
Also, The President of Pakistan Mohammad Rafiq Tarar on Wednesday welcomed the call of the Islamic Republic of Iran for imposition of comprehensive sanctions against Israel.
Talking to the visiting Dr. Hassan Rouhani, President Tarar said, "The call of the Iranian authorities, including the leadership and President Mohammad Khatami for imposition of sanctions against the Zionist regime have won over the hearts of Muslims."
He urged the need for unity among the Muslim nations and said that geographic boundaries could not divide the Muslim Ummah.
He announced his governments all out support for the call of the Iranian leadership for sanctions against Israel.
Dr, Rouhani said that the common border between Iran and Pakistan had always been a border of friendship and fraternity between the two nations.
He said, "The ups and downs in our bilateral relations in the recent past are completely of temporary nature and I hope that the historic bonds and policies of the two governments would strengthen bilateral relations in the future."
