DHAKA Bangladeshi troops on Wednesday supplied water to residents in the capital Dhaka, a city of 10 million people who are facing a water crisis because of river pollution and sweltering summer heat. The officials said the water crisis was party due to growing consumption by the city's hugely expanding multi-storied housing complexes and pollution in the River Buriganga, a major source of water for the city. Hundreds of people, including women and children, wait in queues for hours to get water from mobile army tanks, Reuters said.
