DUSHANBE -- Two unidentified combat helicopters dropped at least two bombs in a mountainous region of eastern Tajikistan, the Interior Ministry said Wednesday. No one was injured and there was no structural damage. The MI-8 helicopters overflew the Khait region about 240 kilometers (150 miles) southeast of the Tajik capital before entering Kyrgyzstan air space, said the ministry, quoting witnesses. Two years ago Uzbekistan aircraft dropped about 10 bombs in the same area in an attempt to wipe out Islamic militants whom it said were hiding there.
