NURBURG, Germany Ferrari's reigning world champion Michael Schumacher sealed his seventh pole position this season in the European Grand Prix, the ninth race of the series, here Saturday as he posted the fastest time of 1min 14.960sec.

The three-time world champion, who also leads this year's overall standings, held off his in-form brother Ralf in his Williams-BMW while Schumacher junior's teammate Juan Pablo Montoya of Colombia will start alongside the other Ferrari of Rubens Barrichello on the second row, AFP reported.
