TEHRAN -- Major General Jazayeri here yesterday marked the anniversary of formation of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC).

The Head of IRGC Cultural Center said the Islamic Revolution, after its victory in 1979, faced hostilities and intimidation by domestic and foreign groups, especially by the elements of American imperialism, therefore the late Imam Khomeini, in a historical move, ordered the formation of the IRGC.

The people welcomed the formation of the corps, the letter of association of which was approved in September 1982.
