Miduk Copper Plant to Launch Operations by October

KERMAN The Miduk Copper Plant in Kerman Province is to start operating by October, a company supervisor at the complex, Mohammad Farrokhnia, said here on Monday.

Farrokhnia revealed that at present nearly 3,000 people are employed at the plant and 110 million tons of unprocessed copper has been extracted from various mines in the region.

He said once the mines start operations, 40 million more tons of unprocessed copper will be extracted.

He added that once operations to put copper concentrate plants in Miduk are in full swing, the unprocessed copper thus extracted would be transferred to the Khatunabad copper production plant in Kerman for melting.

The Miduk copper production plant is affiliated to Iran's copper industries company and is located 35kms from Shahr-e Babak in Kerman Province.
