10th Iran-Oman Political Committee Winds Up

TEHRAN -- The 10th session of Iran-Oman Joint Political Commission ended its work here on Saturday.

Director General in Charge of Persian Gulf Affairs in Iran's Foreign Ministry Hossein Sadeqi and Omani co-chairman of the commission Ahmad Yousof al-Haresi attended the session.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the two sides surveyed the existing mutual ties, and ways for implementing the former bilateral accords. They also discussed the latest regional and international developments especially those related to the Persian Gulf.

During the meeting, the Omani side welcomed Iran's proposal for providing specialists and skilled workforce for Muscat government, IRNA reported.

He expressed his satisfaction over the improving trend of mutual trade ties and announced his country's readiness for establishing a trade office in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, in near future.

The two sides also discussed the venues for facilitating the visits of their nationals to either country.

The session opened on last Sunday. The next meeting will be held early next year in Muscat.
