TEHRAN -- Once development projects on Salman oil and gas fields are complete, the region will yield 50,000 barrels of crude oil, 500 million cubic feet of gas and 6,000 barrels of condensed gases a day, IRNA reported.

The Oil Ministry's Public Relations Department further announced on Sunday that $850 million has been invested on the project for development of Salman oil field.

The project is expected to be commissioned by next summer and operations on the gas sector of the project will continue until October 2003.

The gas extracted from the field will be transferred to Assalouyeh gas field via 30-inch pipelines running in an area of 240 kilometers.

A gas refinery plant will also be established in the region.
