TEHRAN -- The creation of the world's biggest intarsia Qoran began in Iran by an artist called Seyed Farshad Maleknia from Qom.

He said that the work began from the beginning of this year and so far five pages have been completed.

In the case of the cooperation of the other instructors the Qoran will complete in about three years but in the contrary it will last about six years, Maleknia said.

The Qoran will be written on 110 pieces of wood measuring 120*240*4.5 centimeter, he added saying that the surface of Qoran is made from the wood of walnut tree, the Ayas are from box tree and the illuminations are from sour orange tree.

"We will try to put all the diacritical marks of the Ayas of Qoran as the manuscript ones." He added.

He underlined that every sheet of this Qoran will cost 45 million rials and the total cost will be 50 billion rials.

He said that from the beginning of the work two purchase proposals have been received by the Islamic countries that are still unanswered.
