Birmingham Upset Leeds to Claim First Win

LONDON -- Newly-promoted Birmingham City secured their first ever Premier League victory on Saturday with a 2-1 upset win over Terry Venables's Leeds United.
Superb strikes by Paul Devlin and Damien Johnson, either side of a well-worked equalizer from Lee Bowyer in the second half, consigned Leeds to a second consecutive defeat, Reuters reported.
City, with only one point on the board before Saturday, fully deserved their win as Aliou Cisse and Robbie Savage harried Leeds in midfield and prevented them finding any rhythm.
Leeds failed to take their chances at St. Andrews, just as they did in their 1-0 home defeat by Sunderland on Wednesday.
