TEHRAN -- The sacred defense filmmaker Jamal Shourjeh said that the cinema is afflicted with moral crisis and lack of religious and revolutionary values.

He added that in spite of the efforts the Cinematic Department of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the officials of the Sacred Defense Cinema Association, it is not clear what percent of the total productions of the cinema will be allocated to films about sacred defense.

He underlined that the cinema is like a garden, the soil of which is spoiled and so the tree of morality and wisdom cannot grow there.

It is common that the countries maintain their national glories and values for the coming generations, he continued saying that unfortunately we have faced a downswing in the post war era.

The filmmaker criticized the ignorance of cultural and military officials and discouragement of some of the cinematic figures of sacred defense and their commercial views toward cinema.

He underlined that the organs, which were active in making films about sacred defense are now involved in commercial matters as a result of narrow mindedness and have ceased to make sacred defense films.

He pointed to the trite and repeated themes as the reason of the decline of the audience and said that it is clear that in such an atmosphere the sacred defense cinema will not grow and the cinematic figures will not make films in this respect.
