Iran, Kuwait to Boost Mutual Ties

KUWAIT CITY -- Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Chairman Mohsen Mirdamadi met the Speaker of Kuwait National Assembly (Majlis al-Umma) Jasem Al-Kharafi here on Sunday to discuss broadening of mutual ties.

At the meeting, Mirdamadi and Al-Kharafi pointing to close historical relations between Iran and Kuwait, expressed the interest of the parliamentarians of both states for development of mutual, regional and international cooperation.

Addressing IRNA after the meeting, Mirdamadi noted that the exchange of visits between the delegations of both countries played a decisive role in promoting bilateral cooperation in various domains.

According to him, the two parliamentarian's negotiations were focused on various political, regional and international issues, specially the crisis in Iraq, the issue of Palestine and the role of Islamic states in solving them.

Mirdamadi underlined the attempts of Iranian and Kuwaiti parliamentarians to support and promote bilateral relations between the two states.

Mirdamadi heading a five-member delegation arrived here on Saturday on a five-day official visit at the invitation of the Head of the Foreign Policy Commission of Kuwaiti Parliament Mohammad Jasem al-Saqar.
