TEHRAN -- Iran stresses Iraq's full compliance with the UN resolutions and decisions, said Iran's Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Head Mohsen Mirdamadi.

"Iran considers any U.S. unilateral military attack on Baghdad as a factor to complicate the political situation of the region," said Mirdamadi in a meeting with visiting Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Kuwaiti National Assembly (Majlis al-Umma) Mohammed Jasem al-Saqr.

He denounced the current developments in Palestine and the Zionist regime's misuse of the regional and international situations to suppress the defenseless Palestinian people and called for the restoration of a fair peace based on the Palestinians' full rights.

Pointing to the cultural, historical and religious bonds between the two countries, the Iranian official voiced satisfaction over expansion of bilateral ties in all fields, particularly in political, economic and parliamentary areas.

For his part, Al-Saqr expressed pleasure over the growing trend of mutual relations and hoped bilateral ties between Iran and member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) would be further strengthened through Kuwait's efforts.

He called exchange of visits by the officials of Iran and Kuwait as a major step in implementation of bilateral accords and an indication of the two countries' political will to consolidate Tehran-Kuwait city ties.

He said Iran and Kuwait share common stances on regional issues, calling for further strategic cooperation among regional states to settle the crises, reported IRNA.
