MOSCOW -- Islamic Republic of Iran has participated dynamically at Moscow's International Automobile Exhibition along with over 30 other countries.

Some 800 auto manufacturers from different countries have presented their productions at the exhibition that will be open to the public up to next Sunday.

Such leading auto manufacturers as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Volvo, Toyota, and Peugeot, have displayed their latest models at the exhibition.

Russia itself, presenting the products of its 570 auto manufacturers, is the biggest participant at the international event, and is competing with such strong countries as Germany, Sweden, Japan and South Korea.

The Iranian manufacturers, too, have a broad presence here, where Samand and Saipa 141 are presented for the first time abroad. One of the officials of Iran's exhibition ground at the fair, who spoke to IRNA on condition of anonymity, while expressing delight over the satisfactory welcome rendered towards Iranian made cars in Russia, said, "We have great hopes that the Iranian cars would find their way into the Russian vast market in near future." He said, "One of the reasons for the great interest shown towards Iranian made cars is their very competitive prices."

He added, "We are currently engaged in marketing with several Russian importers and many contracts are almost finalized with them.
