TEHRAN (IRNA) -- President Mohammad Khatami here Monday received the founding members of the Women's Party.

During the meeting, Khatami stressed the equal rights of all people in every society to progress.

He also said working in social fields prepared the ground for flourishing of the personality of people, whether men and women, and called for properly introducing the progressive Muslim women of Iran to the world.

The founders of the Women Party, too, stressed the importance of the issue of women and outlined the needs and demands of women in different social and cultural areas.
