TEHRAN – In line with implementation of a plan to convert gasoline-fueled engines into dual-fuel users, the previous record was broken by converting and producing some 600 gasoline-fueled cars per day.

According to the reports released by the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Fuel Conservation Organization (IFCO), from the said figure some 470 cars have been converted into dual-fuel users in the IFCO workshops and the rest have been produced by Iran Khodro and Saipa car manufacturing giants.

A total of 154,907 dual-fuel cars have been either converted or produced since implementation of the plan, some 120,489 of which have been converted into dual-fuel users in the converting workshops and the rest are originally produced by their producing companies.

There are presently some 113 converting workshops running in 40 cities of the country to convert the gasoline-fueled engines of the cars in to dual-fuel users, so that they can use the compressed natural gas (CNG) as well.
