ANKARA (IRNA) — Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki will head a high-ranking delegation to attend the 19th Iran-Turkey economic cooperation committee meeting in Ankara next week.

The four-day meeting will kick off on February 18.

The first two days of the event will be attended by experts. The ministerial meeting will be held in the last two days.

At the end of the four-day joint commission meeting, a protocol on matters to be discussed, on which agreements are reached, will be issued. The expected protocol will be signed by Mottaki and the Turkish head of the joint economic commission.

Earlier, Iran’s minister of road and transportation headed the joint commission on behalf of Iran.

However, based on the new developments in economic relations with foreign countries, the Foreign Ministry will be directly responsible for Iran’s ties with the neighboring countries.

Iranian economic attaché in Turkey, Ahmad Nourani, speaking to IRNA in Ankara, expressed satisfaction with the growing trend of bilateral economic relations and briefed him on the agenda of the upcoming commission meeting.
