Shajarian concert held last night

TEHRAN -- Mohammadreza Shajarian gave the first performance of his concert last night at the National Grand Hall.
Technicians were yesterday permitted to enter the concert hall to arrange the stage design and sound equipment for yesterday’s performance by Mohammadreza Shajarian, although this should have been carried out a day before, Hamidreza Nurbakhsh, the publicist of Ava band, told the Persian service of Mehr News Agency yesterday morning.Although the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance had issued a permit for the concerts, the police told officials of the National Grand Hall to prevent the concert’s technicians from entering the hall on Saturday.
Shajarian accompanied by the Ava band is also giving concerts on July 31, and August 2, 3, 5 and 6.
Recital performances to echo at Niavaran Cultural Center
TEHRAN -- Mehdi Nejati is to perform a classical guitar recital on July 31 at the Niavaran Cultural Center.
He will be playing renaissance, classic, romantic and modern pieces in two forty-five minute sessions. In the first part of the concert he will perform solo and in the second section he will be accompanied by the violinist Amir Fathi.
A concert comprising piano recitals by Negin Hessezadeh and Hirsa Hadibeik will be held at the center on August 1. They will be performing pieces by world-renowned musicians.
Role of textile design in Safavid era clothing to be discussed at TMCA
TEHRAN -- A two-day convention focusing on costumes worn in the Safavid era will be held on July 31 and August 1 on the sidelines of the Biennial Textile and Clothing Show at Tehran's Museum of Contemporary Arts (TMCA).
During the event experts and artists will review the role of fabric design in the clothing of the Safavid era, the history of the cummerbund and cummerbund-weaving and costumes evolving from Aryan culture
