TEHRAN - Death toll caused by the U.S. occupation of Iraq is far higher than the number of victims in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings, Iranian ambassador to Mexico Mohammad-Hassan Qadiri-Abyaneh said on Monday.

Almost 220,000 people were killed in Japan’s nuclear bombings, whereas the statistics show that a minimum of 250,000 and a maximum of one million people have been killed since the occupation of Iraq by the United States, Qadiri-Abyaneh told the Mehr News Agency.
The U.S. has committed any kind of crime in order to stay in Iraq and to implement its illegitimate policies, he added.
Some outcomes of the Iraq occupation have been “destruction, slavery of the people, insecurity, corruption, and torture,” Qadiri-Abyaneh noted
