TEHRAN -- The traditional music band Dastan and the Belgian National Orchestra, conducted by Pascal Rophe, are to perform some pieces jointly in a concert which is scheduled for April 2008.

“Pieces by Hamid Motebassem and Hossein Behruznia will be played during the concert. The music has been arranged by Ahmadreza Darvishi and some of my own compositions will also be performed during the event,” the band’s representative Saeid Farajpuri told MNA.
He added that the band also intends to give collaborative performances with other renowned orchestras including the London and Berlin symphony orchestras.
“Darvishi has welcomed the plan to perform with the Belgian National Orchestra and is currently arranging the instrumentation” Farajpuri said in conclusion.
The Dastan traditional music band is also to accompany Homayun Shajarian on his solo European concert tour which is planned to take place from January 25 until February 18
