TEHRAN Dara and Sara, two dolls wearing traditional Iranian clothes are to be introduced to market with a first stage production of 20,000, the designer and manufacturer of the dolls Fatemeh Babaie told the TEHRAN TIMES. The daily Qods quoted the Advisor of Education Minister Mohsen Chiniforoushan as saying that the production of the dolls, which were to be introduced last year, was delayed due to technical problems and nothing has been achieved in this regard.
Chiniforoushan, also the head of Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, stated that the equipment needed for manufacturing of the dolls were to be imported from Italy. We try not to compromise quality for speed, he added. However, Ms. Babaie said to the TEHRAN TIMES that although there are problems in the way of manufacturing the dolls, they will be removed and the dolls will be introduced soon.
